LaserII Training Event at Bough Beech Sailing Club
Saturday 24th May 2003
Here is a brief run-down of what the plans for the Bough Beech Laser2 training event.
Please can you pass it around the Laser2 sailors at you club and/or put it on your
clubnotice board. Plans are obviously dependent on the weather conditions and the
standard on the day.
- 10:00am. Meet and introduction. Rigging session.
- 11:30am. Change and get on the water for a few basic exercises with the spinnaker
and trapeze and using the video.
- 12:30-1:00pm. Lunch with brief review of the video footage.
- 1:30pm. Tuning session. On the shore demonstration of different boat set-ups and use
of the various sail controls on the Laser2 using a trainer's boat as a demonstration.
- 2:30pm. Extended on the water session (with mid session break). Spinnaker and trapeze
exercises around a short course. Possible one to one depending on weather conditions
and number of attendees. Short races. Possibly splitting into 2 groups depending on
the facilities available.
- 5:00pm. Off the water and debrief in the club house with use of the video footage.
I will like to make this a full day as possible as the coaches can only attend for one day.
I cannot be certain but some class association members may also come along, bringing their
boats as well, to help out and possibly join in the racing on Sunday.
The day will cost £5 per boat to cover instructor's expenses and one member of each boat
must be a current member of the UK Laser2 Class Association.
Numbers may be limited.
To reserve your space at the event or for further information please contact me at the
