DDN News Grabber
Webmasters note: Please note that due to server changes and a redesign at dotdragnet neither this script or the demo linked below work any more and are unlikely to unless dotdragnet reintroduce the parts of the site that this script used to hook into. (12/12/2002)
This script will grab a listing of the last 5 threads updated in Dotdragnet's forums and allow you to embed it within a web page in any way that you see fit.
This is intended to be used via a SSI include, but could be used simply as a standalone page.
Details
Version 1.0, which is currently available for download below, can be embedded in a web page using SSI, embedded within the page using an IFRAME or an OBJECT tag or called directly as a new page. It displays a list of the last five threads updated on the DDN forums, with hyperlinks to each.
Each time the script is run it pulls the information from the DDN server then outputs it on your page. This means that there could be a slight delay as the script grabs the information across the internet, also if the DDN server happens to be busy, slow or down then the script will print an error message.
